My FIRST UNBOXING! GoPro Hero 5
sure what's up guys I've never done an unboxing before this is actually my very first unboxing so today we are looking at the GoPro Hero 5 but I'm going to do this unboxing in a very different unique way through and through so to start let's take a look at what is inside the box oh looks pretty good 4k baby build of this is a lot better it's actually thicker than the last one but yeah I'm sorry I got to stop this for a second this tabletop is chapping my ass this means to be white we're going to hold this unboxing please hold while I paint the top of this table you what's up guys except we're back looking at the hero 5 black now I'm not going to go through all the aesthetics there's a hundred videos hundreds and hundreds of videos online you can go to check out all the actual detailed specs and how it feels in your hand and battery life performance I want to actually go use this and see what I can come up with in like 60 minutes only using this and that's how I'll get a good realistic real-world kind of experience using the new Hero 5 and only this camera here's my problem with GoPro cameras we all know they look amazing when you see someone jumping out of a plane and snorkeling in the Maldives and snowboarding down the alp jumping out of a helicopter lip it looks insane we all know that but I want to know how it looks for like the regular people that just want to buy one for when they might be going to do something on a vacation or when they might need it or maybe they just want the camera regular people shooting regular things on a regular basis I don't see much go for a footage of that and that's where I want to test it because I mean like half the time you think yourself I'm going to go shoot and then you think well what the hell am I going to go shoot I go I don't know it looks like outside what am I going to do that's the kind of footage that I want to see come this camera I want to see what it can do with that because I know that if I jump out of a plane with this thing it's going to look insane but I don't know how it's going to look outside today with how shitty the weather is and that's where I want to push this camera to really find out what it's capable of we're gonna hop in the car I'm going to grab this GoPro where we go to my dad's house because he is a little guitar shop in his basement where he makes acoustic guitars I know I'm saying there's like no light in the basement I don't want to turn on any of the external lights I just want to use the natural light that's coming in which is like Nicks and nothing and that'll really give me an accurate representation of how this camera looks when it's not shooting action sports or something as insane but shooting just regular stuff in a regular space that has a very very harsh lighting condition so it'll be really good test let's check it out this is kind of what it looks like [Music] I would say that looks pretty good I mean it's a little noisy there's a little bit of grain in there but I mean that's to be expected we're in a basement with natural light and no light source helping at all using a camera that isn't necessarily meant for what I'm actually shooting with it I think we can use it in the test it's a really shitty day out right now it's snowing super bright everything's blown out looks like someone just went into Photoshop drag down the saturation it just started mashing the keys so let's see how this performs in a relatively ugly day's shooting essentially nothing let's see what that looks like again not so bad I actually turn this to a linear setting so that you didn't get that classic fisheye bow that GoPros know for I mean that's amazing if you're jumping off a mountain or something like that that you want to see everything everything is in focus there's no depth of field with this camera you need something like what I'm shooting on to get a little more depth which inherently gives you a more cinematic feel but yeah I'd say this actually performed pretty well okay here's a pro tip for when you're getting new equipment I use it all the time everyone always wants to go out and shoot in the most optimal situations that the Sun set the lights perfect it's beautiful that's totally acceptable because we just want to use our new stuff ah however what I recommend doing this is what I do is I purposely look for like the harshest situation where it's going to be most difficult for me and the camera and that's where I test it out for the first time because that's where I really get to know the ins and outs of the camera where it sucks where it doesn't suck where I'm going to be stuck with the hardest settings and how it performs with the hardest settings because that way when I'm shooting with it down the road or doing a paid job or I'm in a situation where it's going to be low light I know because I did those initial tests like ah we're going to have to get more external lights or it will work but it might be a little grainy and yeah the skies have been blown out but I know how this camera performs and the shittiest of conditions so we're all set and that's a really good way to get to know your equipment and it makes you more efficient because the next time that situation arises you'll know exactly what you're going to get from your camera and you know how it's going to affect your shooting style so essentially in a nutshell shoot in the shittiest conditions and make it hard for yourself and the camera and then you'll really know what you think okay that's it for me guys thank you so much for watching don't forget to Like comment subscribe if you aren't already and if you don't want to do any of those things that's totally fine man's your life I hope you have a fantastic day I will see you in the next article you.
