can figure it out you can figure it out gotta open it back up after you slam it down as we get towards the end of the m1 macbook coverage i would like to point out again that the you should buy series isn't actually telling you to go out and buy everything that i talk about here what this series is meant to be and do is to point out the absolute best reasons that the computer slash phone slash tablet whatever the best reasons on why you should buy one if you are in the market plus as a quick note i would like to thank everyone i would like to thank each of you for letting me know that all of the videos that you've wanted made you've let me know in the comments below i know it's taken a while but i think i've finally gotten through everyone's m1 questions or suggestions but if you do have another video idea leave me a note below i do try as you can see in the past few months i do very much try to get to all of your video suggestions or questions as much as i can back to the macbook pro 13 though this guy back to this guy this computer is easily the most boring of the new m1 macs that were released wait what was the title of the video all joking aside it's boring the macbook air totally changed how i even think about the macbook airline the intel versions were never a computer that i

could really bring myself to recommend unless you were practically only going to be using it to browse the internet but the new one was my favorite laptop of 2020 if not all time the mac mini was also a computer that i'd never even considered buying myself but the new m1 option is the cheapest way into the mac ecosystem and you don't give up a single ounce of power to do so when compared against those two like titans the macbook pro 13 is as good as i thought the macbook pro 13 could always be it's not very exciting but there's a reason that i'm making this video it's great and it continues to be great so the macbook pro 13 didn't have as much ground to make up as the other two and it seems boring in comparison boring is another way of saying less risky and as a pretty less risky adult myself this is actually the option that gets you the most bang for your buck in my opinion okay all of that preamble out of the way let's get into those reasons why you should buy one of

these suckers the very first reason well it's what we've been talking about so far there is very little risk in buying this computer it's pretty middle of the road it's not overly expensive it's very powerful it's got a great screen a fantastic keyboard it's the whole package even at its base model if you buy the cheapest version of this you are getting the full m1 power much like the mac mini eight core cpu eight core gpu okay though i don't think you lose all that much power from losing the one gpu core on the macbook air i'm sure and i totally believe that there are a few key workflows or use cases that could show that detriment so that's why i pointed it out here and i know talking about risk and middle of the road features isn't the best thing for youtube sensationalism type content but in the real world it's actually what ends up mattering the most the next reason you should buy the macbook pro 13 is that active cooling system in my four years now wow not only does time fly it literally vanishes in my four years of making online video i've spent most of that time probably three years and six months of it maining an apple laptop of some kind i started out with the 2015 macbook pro 13 moved to the 2018 version of it then to the 2019 version of it when i was traveling last year to a well not even last

year like two years ago now dang 2021 to a macbook pro 16 then to a dark period where i couldn't stay in catalina and went back to windows then we're back to the m1 so the computer history there my computer history is just to tell you that in all of that time fan noise is something you just learn to live with and the good thing about these previous computers i mean there was a reason i used them but it was never ear damaging bad or as bad as complaining about it in a youtube video makes it sound it is a striking difference when it's gone right now i'm not trying to talk down to anybody or try and sell you magic snake oil but if you haven't tried out the m1 macbook pro 13 you cannot appreciate what i'm going to say having a fan on your computer that you cannot hear is it's so nice it's so nice it's not an exaggeration to say that now all fan noises they drive me crazy because using either my macbook pro or macbook air my computers are now shockingly silent but now that i've said that as somebody that makes a lot of content about laptops this might be a bad thing because in trying out that razer blade 13 over the past few months the fan noise stands out to me so much is it a stupid thing to complain about yes but it is very very noticeable thanks apple for ruining laptops for me forever now i hope you are happy with yourselves the next reason you should buy the m1 macbook pro is the power this computer is insanely powerful for its size and price

point and i want to pause on this comment for a second i want to hold here for a second and i've seen a lot of youtube content out there with people comparing these admittedly entry level laptops with a full custom pc rig or a thirty thousand dollar mac pro rig and saying you think your laptop's power well i spent five times the amount of money on this and i've got marginally better performance yeah yeah you will the m1 processor is fantastic but you can still brute force a lot of current applications out there so is this the most powerful computer processor known to mankind no it is the most powerful for its size price and weight of the laptop and when i say power a common refrain that i give is that if you are an office worker like me welcome welcome family we've had all the power we'll ever need since like the intel pentium processor days there is a reason that everyone's work buys them dell inspirons and hp whatever the lowest level hp laptop is can your computer run teams zoom webex okay there you go looks like you're good to go for power don't need the new m1 processor with its eight cores so when i talk about a laptop being powerful i'm really honing in on the other aspect of my life which is all of this 4k video creation because here power does buy you something power buys you efficiency and efficiency is the key in keeping up with all of these crazy algorithms of whatever your platform of choice is and as a benefit in videos like this the m1 macbook pro 13 is powerful in those artificial and mostly meaningless numbered benchmarks the m1 scores very very well in both single core and multi-core performance ranking with desktop class processors from both intel and amd and if you want even more power when running apple silicon optimize software you get performance that's even better than on those bigger higher end machines now i don't just say that because it's something that apple put on their website and i've actually replaced my macbook pro 16 with this macbook pro 13 and i haven't had a single issue over the past couple of

months since that switch and as a final cut video editor i've actually seen gains in that efficiency even though my computer is much smaller i'm telling you i'm telling you this is awesome and that i'm currently maining a computer that cost me less than half of my macbook pro 16. that makes me even my wallet is also very happy about that but then i bought other stuff my wallet my wallet's not actually happy with me the next reason you should buy the m1 macbook pro 13 is something that should sound very familiar if you've watched my m1 coverage the battery life yes i mentioned that the battery life is awesome on the macbook air but on the pro 13 it's whatever is past awesome like neo awesome 20 hours of battery life 20 hours of battery life this battery lasts in ways that i'm still shocked over 20 hours while i was typing the script for this video i just sat and stared at my computer for like five minutes trying to find the words to give you a true sense of what that kind of battery life is like it's crazy to me because all i really care about is eight hours of use in reality when i get home from work or traveling for the day i'm just gonna plug the laptop in and it'll be good again by the time i need to head back to the office but even if it gives me eight hours i'll always bring a charging cable or a battery just in case because you never know when you'll need to stay late or if you get caught in a particularly long lasting meeting and surprise you're in a new conference room that you've never been in before with a very important client and your computer is about to die so you're frantically trying to find an outlet and you're also trying to not look foolish by taking your important clients notes on your cell phone ask me ask me why that sounded oddly specific battery life like this fixes that it fixes so many small problems that by themselves i'll just bring an extra battery or i'll bring other things with me to fix these problems but quality of life is huge and sometimes you only get

one chance to make a good impression with the client and with as important as computer notes and collaboration is removing the chance for the battery to die is so powerful if you don't do office work with clients this probably isn't as big of a deal but even creators or other workers that wish to be free of needing to be shackled to the tyranny of the wall outlet we should overthrow the wall outlet all of us can really appreciate this and this is without any hyperbole without any overly dramatic excited youtuber comment this is the best battery life that i've ever seen on a computer while you were on that battery life that feels like it lasts like an eternity you get full functionality out of the laptop you don't take a performance hit while on battery take that windows this just makes me want to tear up thinking about it the next reason why you should buy the m1 macbook pro 13 is less touchy-feely the versatility sure the laptop itself is not perfect i do wish that apple would take a page out of razer's book and put some of its ports on each side of the computer and you know while we're at it maybe we could even add some more ports to the body i'm just saying i'm just saying maybe we could step out of our comfort zone and include some more usability in a device labeled pro but either way with or without that these thunderbolt 3 ports give you so many options when it comes to working with this computer and the versatility this reason is why i moved to this is my main computer

and i moved away from my mac mini you get all of that awesome power that i was just talking about better performance i'll remind you then my macbook pro 16 in my specific needs and the software that i use and i get that whether i'm sitting down here in my office with the computer plugged into my dock and monitor an external keyboard and mouse i get it that way or if i'm somewhere else with just the computer just this just this it's always the same user experience and power on hand and what's really nice is i've always got my same files with me i don't need to have an external drive with what i'll call my common files or i don't need to worry before i'm getting ready to travel to make sure that all of my common files have been transferred between computers because this is just one single computer that does everything for me plus unlike the macbook pro 16 with this lower power draw requirements any dongle or dock currently on the market will be able to provide plenty of power to the machine this never was a huge problem with the 16 even though they technically didn't provide that 90 watts of power you never really lost anything but it's nice to know that you get all of that power with less actual electricity requirements bringing us to the last reason to buy the new m1 macbook pro 13. don't look

surprised don't look surprised because this is a reason i've given every single time as this impresses me each time i use one of these new macs these m1 max are the most stable macs that i've ever used i think i just said mac like five times in 10 seconds i have seen others have problems so definitely check out to make sure that all of your software is stable on these machines before you buy one but in my many hours a day i don't just mean like many hours to make this video i mean i use this for many hours every single day and i've yet to have a beach ball i've yet to have a bluetooth problem and i've yet to have a single crash i'm not even going to knock on this table because i have faith in it that's not something that i could have said about all of those previous macbooks i listed off in the beginning of this video stability in software is very important to me and it might be the most important to me big sur running on the m1 processor is the most stable that i've yet had which i hope it continues on this path because this has been the stability has made this absolutely some of the best two months of computer usage in my life it's almost like you don't realize that you've been holding your breath about a problem until you exhale having real stability is like exhaling man i'm being very philosophical today but at the end of the day so what right these are all of the main reasons

why i think you should buy the macbook pro 13 if you have been considering it you get the power you get the battery life you get the versatility the stability and everything else at a price point that while no it's not cheap it's absolutely better and more competitive than anything else you are going to find there is not another computer laptop or otherwise that can do what the macbook pro 13 can do for its size and price point normally you have to sacrifice one of those three features size price performance but you don't have to here this is a very special computer that against all odds and all rationality actually provides a satisfying tick mark in all of those boxes and if you like this video and are considering or have purchased the macbook pro 13 here's a video with all of the accessories that i've personally been using to turn this into my daily computer both in my office and around the house so i don't feel like being trapped in my office anymore.
