Fuji x-T4 Unboxing and Initial Impressions! Finally the PERFECT Camera
Fujifilm very recently released the xt4 and if you look over this thing spec list it reads like a perfect youtuber camera so I'm really excited to crack this thing open so what comes in the box let's find out and as we're finding out I'd like to thank today's sponsor Skillshare what's up everyone I'm the everyday dead and if I can figure it out you can figure it out so I'm really excited about this I really like what Fuji has been doing with their cameras recently and again if you read down this thing spec sheet it's crazy and thanks to the folks over B&H photo for letting me borrow this XT for crazy stuff so let's you know what we're not gonna talk about it too much let's just crack this box open because I'm really excited and something that I do like about what Fuji does is they do make really nice packaging material one of the things camera companies can do to win me over is have nice material like don't nobody want to buy like something this expensive like a sixteen hundred dollar camera and get like a junky box Canon okay what do we have in here Fuji film worldwide network that's cool looking again they give you all sorts of phone numbers to contact if something's wrong that's great capture one which is kind of a necessary evil when you deal with cameras with its kind of sensor caution do you know what we do with caution around here we throw it to the wind I got to get that gonna give that back we put caution back in the pile product registrations do not return this product to your place they're purchased before kind of hook stop they're being very serious then you got the digital camera the owner's manual and two languages I love it I love companies that promote literacy let's get to the exciting stuff though oh here's the camera so hold on we'll set you aside we're not quite ready for you yet we're not quite ready for you and in fact if this is not totally set up the way that an unboxing would normally be for this camera I got way excited and I already kind of open it and then I was like no we have to make the video Gary so I had to put everything back in if it's all not back in the exact same place there that's why what kind of cool accessories do we get and something else that I like about what Fuji does is they always give like cool accessories so we've got D oh we've got the camera strap we have to talk about camera straps in a while but I want you to leave me a comment below if you use the camera strap that comes your camera I never do I know I say I'm going to every time we do a camera in boxing and then I never use the strap because I'm apparently a terrible person but hold on let's see this let's check this one out oh this is a nice one this is a nice one it says Fuji film on it it's got like nice this might be the nicest camera strap that I've ever gotten in a box like this this thing feels amazing like I want to use this in other things that aren't this camera like this is I know youtubers we have a tendency to hyperbolized we have a tendency to get really excited over things that aren't that exciting this is the nicest camera strap I have ever gotten out of a box and I've opened up a few of these cameras before what else we have we have a USB see the USBC cable assigment camera takes us PC we have the brand new battery which is one of the most exciting parts about the xt4 is this has Fugees like first new battery in years very excited for that that's important we'll put you in the important pile this right here that's the important pile looks like we have some kind of plug we have a USB C 2 headphone out yep I forgot so this doesn't have a headphone port you have to plug this in at least they give you the dongle if you're not gonna have the port built into the body at least you have the dongle and then what is this thing oh this is the plug oh so you don't get a battery charger that sucks I hate when cameras don't come with battery chargers I I get it that we all charge in camera anymore us PC has really good recharge rates by just like I prefer charging my batteries with a battery charger so let's see now we get to the main attraction Fuji xp for what are ok what are these things what what a weird is this for a strap well that's the first thing that's we're taking those off right now because that is the weirdest thing we're not gonna bash anybody they they had their aesthetic thing that they worried they had in mind for the camera we're not gonna get too mad already but there we go oh so much better that man that is much bigger I've had annexed III in in a while and that is a it feels like much bigger but not like overly big I do like Fuji continues to have they're all they're like manual dials up here all the analog stuff I actually really like this I know this is kind of like a divisive thing in the the camera community whether or not you like these dials I like being able to see without having to look at I'm looking at my three cameras right now without having to look at the monitor I like being able to look at the top of the camera and seeing what's going on and not just seeing but I don't have to then you know mess with the dials I can be like okay I'm at sixtieth shutter speed okay number 125 or whatever I need to set it at 400 ISO I can move it up and down I really like these dials the body feels really good and what's the most important part about this whole camera it's got a fully articulating screen on there like holy cow the XT 200 had at the X a7 has one and now the X t4 has it which basically like this thing has internal in body image stabilization a flip screen and phase detection autofocus what what else is there I'm really excited to dig into this thing but the body feels great looks like we got customizable button here on the front we got the lens mount here is the X trans sensor and that X trans sensor is part of the reason we kind of got to use capture 1 you can't get as much out of like lightroom if you're trying to take RAW photos with this thing but a lot of people just use this for JPEGs you got the rotating dials if you do want to change stuff in the menus and you don't want to use the physical dials joystick on/off AF buttons menus toggles display the new battery will try that out in a second it does have this kind of connection which is much like the Panasonic connection so if you're using a battery grip the power goes through here and you can have a battery in the camera and then - in the grip which is awesome quarter-inch tripod mount on the bottom let's check out this screen I was kind of nervous totally honest with you I was really nervous after using the XT 210 isms for their flip screen real junkie did not inspire confidence that much and when I was like oh they're getting a flip screen for that they're probably just gonna they're probably just going to reuse that same mechanism but they didn't it feels really good we've got dual SD card slots which is nice courts over here we've got USBC and micro-hdmi Fuji like at least give us many at least give us many with this the video specs inside of this thing that really sucks I hate micro HDMI and you may be like whoever did well you cared about ports if you've ever used micro HDMI you'll know that they fall out all the time they put lots of stress on the camera itself I just don't like it then we've got remote and mic so yes you do not have headphone you'll have to use the USB C to get headphone out but the body feels this is a good feeling camera you've got still and movie mode I like it okay what we're gonna do we're gonna charge up the battery just a little bit and we're gonna mess around with the menu systems then we will do like an indoor image quality test of the camera so so okay and we are now back we've got I don't know how we only were able to let it rest for like 15 minutes because I'm just too darn excited I'm ready to get into this camera so let's see how it works with the battery this feels fairly substantial much more so than uh feels pretty it feels pretty chunky feels pretty chunky let's turn this sucker on okay cancel cancel cancel cancel okay menu now one of the things that if you know me you know that I do not like food use menu systems and I think part of the problem is food you put so much stuff in here like look we've got 4k we've got DCI 4k we've got full HD we've got full HD at 17 by 9 you've got so many options you've got 4k that you can do it 100 200 400 megabits per second you can do long gap you can do intra frame codec you have so many options you have so many options and I know that like why you complaining about so many options it's just because the way that they ended up putting this all together I'm not that big of a fan of this might be a touch screen I don't know again we'd literally just took it out of the box but it looks very similar to the XT 3 the XT 30 that I've tried if it high-speed whoo this does do 240 frames per second alright yep it'll do 1080p it up to 240 frames per second which is better than my beloved GH 5 which I've always considered to be like the standard video camera is this gonna take it over I'll have to find that out so we'll turn that off I like the aterna profile but I also really like standard okay so we've got the 10 to 24 we're gonna do a quick indoor image test to treat this like hey if this was your indoor studio camera that you're using a super ultra wide lens with why not do it this way it's got that face and eye tracking autofocus that you're definitely not gonna can you guys you are not gonna be there we go it does have the face and eye tracking autofocus which I'm very excited about one of the things that with the XT 3 I really like that camera when it came out but it seemed like his firmware updates came out it got less and less reliable autofocus so I'm hoping that the XT 4 here has like the good autofocus and it does look you can see it's tracking my face right there you can see it's tracking my face and my eye so let's we don't even have it hold on I gotta grab an SD card to give you if this is your first time here in the everyday dad welcome this is where we totally forget to bring lenses and SD cards and all sorts of stuff when we're doing unboxings because why wouldn't you have them ok looks good let's crank up the ISO a little bit because this is a relatively slow lens ok now we are on the Fuji XT 4 with the 10 to 24 this is in the standard picture profile I haven't done anything I'm not gonna grade I'm not gonna grade it it's just the exact same light everything you saw earlier here's the cameras that are still going and yeah this is the indoor image quality one of the things that I'm always impressed about fujian is they have very very very good skin tones right out of camera and I assume looking at the screen right here that it's it hasn't changed here with the XT 4 here can we zoom in there that might be a little better one of the things though I am nervous about Fugees autofocus was not great in the XT 3 and in the last time I had the XT 3 I was not impressed in any way shape or form so I do see the boxer on my eye hopefully this is working and it looks really good and I hope the stabilization is doing really well too because this camera has built-in in body image stabilization like where the sensor moves around a little bit I'll G H 5 so how's that looking let me know how the stabilization is looking because like my arm this is starting to get heavy and my arms starting to hurt so I assume the cameras gonna be shaking around a little bit but it looks it looks real looking at that rear screen so again this is the indoor image quality of the Fuji XT 4 and that brings me to the sponsor of today's video skill
